Chinese New Year Blessings

February 10, 2010 By Bishop Kevin J. Farrell

For our Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean Catholics February 14 will be one of the most important days of the year. It is the Chinese New Year, Tet for the Vietnamese and Sol-nal for Koreans. There will be celebrations, feasting and gift giving during the three-day celebration. It is a time for family. The celebration will welcome the Year of the Tiger, the year 4047 in the Chinese calendar.

I pray for God’s abundant blessings and good fortune for our Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean Catholics for the New Year. Their presence among us is a great gift to the Church of Dallas.
