Welcome and bienvenido to Archbishop-designate Gustavo Garcia-Siller whom Pope Benedict XVI has appointed Archbishop of San Antonio. He is a native of San Luis Potosi, Mexico and is a priest of the Missionaries of the Holy Spirit. The Archbishop-designate is 54 years old, was ordained in 1984 and has served as Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago since 2003. Archbishop-designate Garcia-Siller will be installed as the tenth Archbishop of San Antonio on November 23.
I look forward with joy to working with Archbishop Garcia-Siller as Metropolitan of the Province of San Antonio, of which the Diocese of Dallas is a part. We ask God’s blessings on our new Archbishop and on the people of the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
